For those wondering, you can get around this globally by listening during the capture phase and stopping propagation. document.addEventListener('DOMSubtreeModified', function( e ) { e.stopPropagation(); }, true );

As a consumer, I would love this. But my understanding is that most/many companies have found "retargeting" to be very effective. So it's annoying, but we also seem to respond to it. As long as that second part remains t

Just to expand on that a bit for anyone who might not know this: var s = new String('foo'); typeof s; // 'object' That is, when you use the `new` keyword, you get back an object instead of a primit

Right, but you wouldn't curry those functions.

It's all relative, right? If I'm writing some super perf-sensitive code like manipulating an array of PCM data for Web Audio stuff or doing a complex canvas animation, then the savings of not using Function#bind are probably kind

You can get a lot of value out of `Function#bind()`, which has been around since ES5. That doesn't let you curry functions, but it does give you partial application, which I think is actually more useful on a day-to-day basis. If you&#

Yeah, sorry about that. I realized afterwards that a better title would probably have been "Writing a Curry Function in JavaScript".

In ES5+, the global `undefined` is immutable, so it should be pretty safe unless someone declared a local `undefined` var in an outer scope.

I agree that default parameters will be a much nicer solution to this problem, but using the OR operator is a very common practice in JS, and any dev with more than about 5 weeks experience will recognize and understand that pattern pretty

I'm a little unclear on this stuff: connection.call('collection', 'users'); Is `connection` a function? As in, you're essentially using Function#call and passing the string 'collection' as `thi

In my experience, it's way easier to write client apps against a REST API. If you look at frameworks like Backbone, you can basically create models/collections for a simple CRUD app just by adding some values to a declarative hash
