It's hard to overstate how awesome build.sh is. If you have some powerful desktop/laptop running virtually any modern POSIX OS, you can easily build for an embedded board like an RPi or Beagelboard, obscure retro targets, or stan

The American security state has been broken for a long time, principally because it seems to perpetually turn in on itself and the citizenry, so without devolving deep into politics I would posit he was just the wrong guy at the wrong time

This is pretty facepalm, has the author actually used any of these extended epoll APIs? inotify - deprecated. aio - complete footgun in linux. Whatever point is trying to be made here is lost in reality, I fail to see how having a bunch

Correct, Johannes Lundberg implemented this on my team at LLNW and we needed to preserve the existing interface and behavior at both an API and ABI level.

Set up an eBay saved search, they are the most common of the MCA RS/6000s to show up. Price target $150-200. If that doesn't work out in a reasonable timeframe (say 1 year) contact me.. otherwise better to rescue from the market

IBM's POWER and POWER2 were also many (8-10 depending) chips in CMOS which was an exotic approach as most RISCs had converged to single die microprocessors but made it possible to beat a lot of vendors in the superscalar punch and push

Once upon a time you would buy an entire system from the EDA vendor like Mentor Graphics, Zuken or whomever, early on those could be quite bespoke and then eventually they used COTS like the HP 9000/300 and Apollo DN10000. And then the

Lovely system, the R8000 is indeed a rare bird.. given the hype not a particularly remarkable CPU by any measure versus its contemporaries at launch (Alpha A21064A, IBM POWER2 and HP PA-RISC all traded heavy blows in that era, SPARC seemed

Definitely commercial 80s cheese and mastered for a mono clock radio like most 80s soft rock but it seems a bit of hipster stretch to call this the worst or even bad. The synth and processed drums sit in the mix reasonably well for the time
