The RAM heavy duty pickups have a system like this, where it's a lot harder to prevent or cut down noise of a big diesel engine, HD transmission, tcase, and tires. It really works well in practice.

One thing that makes it hard to grok is how large the scope seems to be and the cognitive bias many devs have developed against new platforms due to being burned in the past. It reminds me of a throwback to 90s era RADs that wanted to enco

I always am curious when I see this. I've planned and deployed master setups in two separate 10^4 node count companies now. In my experience the number of hosts doesn't really matter (figuring out an architecture that will work

I've generally seen the opposite, salt works well multi0-platform, ansible is geared toward the LTS distros. It's extremely easy to get bug fixes into salt, and I've done a few dozen. The biggest issue I see with ansible is

The tech industry, but especially and most drastically open source, has been completely taken over by expert marketers called "dev relations" in the past decade. What you say about working too well is true; the business model of

Apple has had the performance per watt crown for quite some time. These chips are not very good for anything outside of prototyping, otherwise hyperscalers would run a sea of small nodes.

In C, because you often use void * for containers, there may be less code bloat than a container multiply used using generics which accessors are monomorphized for each type. In practice this is pretty trivial difference and can be bounded
