I think Minneapolis seems low, but with these reports I always assume there is some lower tier in the market the typical HN crowd would never be exposed to that is driving down the averages. I mean those “Urgent!” recruiting emails have to

Not every reviewer has a "fine-toothed comb" philosophy. Unless code is algorithmic in nature, I look at architecture and approach only. A good post on the topic: https://blog.danlew.net/2021/02/23/s

Tried it out and really liked it. I'm an Alfred user as well, and am wiring them up for side-by-side competition between Cmd-Space and Option-Space. Seems like you're really pushing next level integration with things like Jira and

I’m not sure how you would word this to target the Facebooks of the world. Especially if SDKs are statically linked.

Can validate, no reasonable way. Removed the SDK myself from a top 100 App Store app.

In the US the only real competition is Lyft, who is definitely not treating software as a cost center.

Under what definition of antitrust is this? You can still sign in with one of those social providers. You can always put your money somewhere other than Apple.

Devils Advocate: Fiddling with React Native tooling on day 0 is just as terrible. I may argue it's worse.

Do you think AirBnB's headcount was smaller when they were all-in on React Native? Do you think they had to go on a hiring spree because they went back to native? I'm skeptical there is a correlation.

128 GB is the sweet spot. I imagine there is a very large glob of users in the 50-75 GB range, which is right there on the border of "64 GB will give you problems". Getting the Pro model, the next step up is 256 - which is super e

As long as you have a decent iCloud data subscription, all that 4k video quickly gets whisked away to the cloud. The 64GB on the device effectively houses installed apps and an effective cache of thumbnails and downloaded content. I have th

I tried GitPrime and thought it was extremely well done. If you ignore the obvious use case of management using it for bean-counting, if you work with 10, 25, 50+ developers it really reveals some enlightening patterns. It is fairly expensi

I did not say the app was not nefarious, I said that their enterprise account was not revoked because the app was nefarious. The enterprise certificates were revoked primarily because they violated the #1 rule of the enterprise account -

Yes, the app was terrible. The Apple Enterprise terms simply state you cannot distribute to the general public. It doesn't matter that the app was terrible, the violation itself was much more boring.

I would highly recommend reading the recent articles about the reasons for Facebook and Google’s certificates being revoked. It is not because the apps were nefarious.

A bicycle is difficult to bring on many forms of public transportation, and can require a change of clothes. Scooters can fit on a luggage rack. Walking is much slower, of course.

Worse - you get hurt irreversibly, sometimes mortally, very slowly over time. A broken leg is often the least of your problems compared to multiple concussions or the cumulative effects of CTE.
