Since I use Things for todo management anyway, I tend to write down creative thoughts there as task items under a "miscellaneous" project. Bigger ideas sometimes get promoted into their own projects with several tasks. Things sync

For a long time I’ve kept everything important in project folders under ~/Projects. Each folder is a Git repository also stored in Bitbucket. I clone these on all the computers I work with. There are some exceptions like photos, videos

I guess Keurig is different from the espresso capsule machines. My machine is a locally licensed K-Fee compatible device and there are both brewed coffee and espresso capsules available. The brewed coffee capsules have some kind of mechanis

Espresso is IMHO not so convenient to make. You need to prepare every portion separately, filling the filter holder correctly each time etc. This is why I personally switched from a traditional espresso machine to capsules. I still make bas

Same mocking occurs every time Apple removes a soon-to-be-obsolete piece of hardware (serial/parallel ports, disk drives, CD drives, USB2/3 ports, etc). So far I think the only big mistake they've made is removing the Esc key

Similar examples have been Fargate and Lambda, which have surprisingly long cold start times depending on runtimes and VPC configurations. IMHO it is a big part of AWS expertise to know these things and be able to choose the right services

Serverless on AWS is the closest thing to an “eternal” stack. Utilize only managed, auto scaling, self updating services, and your app will keep running for a long time. Occasionally the Node.js major version in Lambda gets deprecated, but

Theoretically yes, but then you still face other problems when the website has not been designed to be used as a desktop app. Slack's own application offers e.g. an easy way to switch between multiple teams (I have 16).

Biggest problem in web apps, at least to me, is window management. When you switch to Chrome (on Mac), all browser windows come to foreground. I want to keep Slack as its own app so that it stays in the background until needed. I also want

In my experience, if you don’t use Serverless Framework, you will end up writing the same functionality yourself as custom deployment scripts, which will not be as stable, extensible and well documented. There are some alternatives in the A

I've been hoping that VR would be the next web in this sense, but haven't seen it happen yet. It would be so cool to have a world-wide fully open Second Life.
