I wish Lambda could listen to arbitrary TCP ports and respond e.g. to HTTP requests or MQTT messages. In the current form it seems pretty limited for any scenarios where generic clients initiate the requests, such as collecting device data

If anybody's wondering about the portable volumes, they're based on Flocker ( https://github.com/ClusterHQ/flocker ) which uses ZFS to move data around between nodes.

Angular.js should be considered a tool that solves certain problems well and some other problems less well. In my book, Angular (when used with Yeoman's generator-angular-fullstack) is a high-productivity tool that immediately generate

Docker on ARM is cool, but it also adds some complexity and heaviness. - You can't access some things from inside containers, e.g. Bluetooth LE. - Processes that run in separate containers don't use shared libraries (shared RAM) s

Is this the beginning of an endless stream of products that basically integrate a simple multi-sensor chip and claim to revolutionalize our lives by notifying us that we need to wear coats outside? I don't want to sound too negative, b

I'd say it's an entirely different thing to vanish from an event than to vanish from a conversation. Vanishing from an event early can be seen as considerate: you don't want to spoil other people's party mood with your g

I think sometimes people also confuse "easiness" and "managed complexity". Docker makes it easy to work on a single container/image at a time, so you don't have to simultaneously grasp the rest of a complex sys
