Tangential but, why shouldn't universities be afraid? The value of higher education for many subjects is existentially threatened by AI. In 10-20 years, it's not unrealistic that the only justifiable subset of subjects will be tho

To those arguing about the semantics of deletion vs. never having saved it in the first place, do you believe the DOJ would make this claim without having considered such trivialities?

If you're going to compare them to lesser ranked schools, sure. But the feeling is that, if a rising tide lifts all boat, the tide has been falling in this case, and top-ranked schools have a lot more to lose.

If they're losing esteem, it's because of the purity of education is fading. First, tuitions are becoming outrageous. The mixture of profit motive and higher education has an unpleasant odor. Then, there are the numerous academic

It should be openly banned on the tit-for-tat principles. The paranoid speculation towards TikTok by some media is embarrassing. Instagram is in the same class of brain-melters. Let's stop the nonsense and call this what it is: protect

This sets the precedent to do the exact same thing to domestic companies if the government feels that the public is being "manipulated," or data being used, in a way it doesn't like. If the rationale was solely tit for tat, &

I agree with your sentiment. Every era has had its major challenges, and it's egocentric + myopic to say ours are the most important ever.

Anyone who knows anything about AI would only use it to drive their car as a last resort. The driving public's ignorance about AI's capabilities is astonishing.

It would be more accurate to compare this to a mass crime. 25 feels light for perpetrating one of the biggest and notorious frauds in modern history. Did the judge go to the upper range of the punishment spectrum? There are judges out there
