This is not a criticism on standardized testing per se. But the methodology could use a serious upgrade in the 21st century.

This test seems to control your trajectory in Korean society to a very high degree, which seems like overkill in my view, because a test can only be so reflective of real-life skills. I have a family member who did very well on the test a

Yes, but TS users can stay on the "type-newbie" path, which is still a huge improvement over vanilla JS and doesn't take much effort. What I've had issues with is devs who came from the vanilla JS world and love it, so t

This kind of CEO is more likely to make Boeing's safety even worse.

Boeing apparently can't withstand the immense quarterly financial scrutiny it is under without making dangerous engineering trade offs. Time to take the company private?

"Excessive" optimism should be defined in the intro. Naturally, it's more click-baity if it's not.

Typescript is a work of art created on a barren canvas. Kudos to the team behind this language.

I see a couple of comments regarding frame rates on load. The Flutter team claims they addressed that with their new rendering engine. Has anyone found this not to be the case?

The Flutter team say they’ve addressed this with a release that updated the rendering engine.

This reminds me of the situation at Boeing, albeit w/ less fatal consequences. For a long time, it's been a company that has focused on maximizing profits through "innovative" business practices, first and foremost, rath

This discovery may change the world in unpredictable and, perhaps very big, ways. Discoveries like this put all the self-important feature / model developers that we work with in our big tech day jobs into context.

I assumed the average New York Times reader is above average in intellect and could appreciate an irrefutable word choice, like “advanced” in place of “confirmed.” I could be wrong.

The job of people who write titles like this is to be very pedantic about word choice. I’ll have to disagree with you on this being a “plain wrong” interpretation of the given wording.

It begs the question as to whether the author of the title actually believes the Big Bang is confirmed from a scientific point of view. That would suggest an atheistic belief.

Shame that instead of highlighting one of the many great things that this man did, they use incorrect phraseology to claim he did something he didn’t do.

A scientific theory cannot really be "confirmed." The word choice is suspect. The Big Bang Theory is consistent with many properties of the known universe, but cannot adequately explain others. Claiming it is the ground truth take

The semantics of the title seem off and written by a non-scientist. A scientific theory cannot be proven, so the significant word choice of “confirm” is poor.

I’m not the kind of person to say that an elite degree is end all be all. But the kind of skill a person exhibits to get into a good college and complete a degree is not necessarily well exercised within the sprint that is a tech interview.
