I think if you already are paying for google drive / gmail / google photos storage < 2TB this also means they'll comp you 2 months of that, since this includes it, so in essence, signing up for this trial will save you m

I've been using GPT-4 (mostly for coding and general knowledge, use it a lot more for personal projects than actual work) for the past year, and just switched to Gemini Advanced (since there's a 2 month trial, that includes Google

It's been working fine. I have the pi's set up to reboot on disk failures, which fixes 99% of the problems (looking at the up time, ony node still reboots once ever 3 weeks or so), and the pods just get migrated, it's not a h

Wow, that's rough. I use a set of raspberry pi 4Bs as a k8s cluster (with an SSD over USB, otherwise etcd crashes cause the storage is too slow). Luckily I have 5 of them (and a k8s cluster is fault tolerant), because the USB disk rand

I couldn't figure out the keyboard controls (and can't find the source code), but you can plug in a controller and it'll play just great (presumably through some web controller API).

My first exposure to this is that it is the only browser pre-installed onto the super useful gparted live rescue ISO that I've used many times. It's good enough for basic troubleshooting and e.g. visiting the archwiki, but it'

egui [1] supports wasm. I wrote a simple chord finder for learning to play guitar with it pretty quickly [2], and would use it again to solve a problem like this, though I'm told immediate mode UI frameworks aren't good for things

It's a bit hard to tell, but this isn't open source (well, assuming we all don't consider wasm source :)), right? I got as far as "powered by cheerpx", which leads me here: https://leaningtech.com/we

I've wanted a package manager for openSCAD as well. I really like using BOSL2, and so when I publish my scads for friends, right now I just include the copy of BOSL I'm using (I forked it the one time I needed to add a custom patc

I use copilot in emacs, and running "git commit -v" puts the diff in my emacs(client) buffer with copilot on and it's not terrible at describing the changes. A lot of times it'll even guess the JIRA ticket number from th

I've also done this (and use github copilot while editing scad files in Emacs). I really wish there were more audio programming languages and examples so that we could create music like this, too.

One thing I will add is that this paradigm really encourages either making a ton of functions (which IMO makes code flow harder to read for these kinds of low-effort projects), or having a lot of scoped statements. A good addition would be

I've also played around with the Rust version egui, and with the eframe template it's super easy to bang out super quick GUI tools on github pages (for example, I made a basic guitar fretboard chord finder [1] to help me learn gui

Anyone know if mods in general work when running CS2 inside Steam on Linux? It's kinda hard to search for since there are a lot of Cities: Skyline results mixed in.

Luckily there are battery stats. On a 7840U with power-profiles-daemon installed and PCI power saving turned on (but not wifi or audio power saving, or VM writebacks, I don't feel those are worth the power savings), it draws 3W if I&

Yes they work (plasma 5 KDE on arch). On the 55Wh battery with a 7840U, it loses 2-3% per hour when asleep, so I set up suspend-then-hibernate after an hour (though setting that up was a pain in itself).

I wonder what are the practical concerns of loading up an AMD laptop (or I guess one of those mini PCs) with an APU/integrated GPU and allocating 70+GB of ram to them as VRAM. Wouldn't that, in theory, be what consumer LLM users w
