The naming is completely coincidental and probably a little confusing / unfortunate. OpenAPI is a rebranding of Swagger, a really popular open source API specification. Incidentally the OpenAPI initiative only predates OpenAI by a mont

@stream is actually straightforward in Node; it’s just part of the http request. Typically Instant API waits until the full request is processed to return headers and body as the endpoint implementation could modify headers; but with stream

Personally, I won't make the switch until the utility methods are supported natively. I don't think it's worth the extra package overhead to execute `buf.toString('base64')`. The second that lands, I'm all-in o

I love coding, too, and have routinely spent 100h+ per week writing code. The thing I'll caution is that the market rewards outcomes, not effort. On a daily basis I write less code now than I did when I was younger, but when I do write

As others have mentioned it seems like the solution is a small fee for submission. Ideally non-refundable instead of refundable. Talented authors should be willing to pay a nominal amount for the overhead of maintaining the bar for content,

No moral objection to the content, only ethical. I don’t care what beliefs you have, I simply think it’s irresponsible to parrot — or provide a platform for parroting — unsubstantiated claims. The beauty of Hacker News, and my enjoyment of

Nothing I’ve argued about the quality of this submission — either publicly or privately — has been political. This is hearsay presented as fact. It is simply not intellectually honest source material. It could be true! I’ve read lots of com

Dan I’ve emailed you privately but I simply don’t think this is appropriate to keep on HN given the framing of the article as fact and the current evidence provided. Hearsay is not new evidence. Give us a recording, a photo, anything. As wr

An unsubstantiated story that’s presented as if it’s fact doesn’t really belong on Hacker News. The fact the submission has to be edited to include a question mark when the source material does not is an implicit admission of such by the mo

The range of all possible temperatures is theoretically infinite. Life as we know it — without protection — can survive at everything from 0K to 386K (113C). As humans we have harnessed temperatures in the 100s of millions of degrees (fusio

As a hot take I’m not incentivized to respond seriously, but I will say that Carbon-based life as we know it on Earth is seriously antifragile. We’ve found life in the most inhospitable places we can imagine and the kicker is it’s all self-
