Exactly. If you're Gap and have a lineup with thousands of articles of clothing, why would you go through the trouble of procuring models? You have to deal with modeling agencies, photographers, set managers, etc... When the AI gets go

That’s another 100% plausible evolutionary explanation. Autism is caused by genes that correlate with intelligence, which is positive for evolutionary fitness. If you get a certain mixture of those genes, you get autism. That won’t stop the

I’m sure that exists everywhere, but if the magnitude is greater in America, I’d guess it’s because we live in a culture of hyper-optimization. Autism is just another thing that can be deemed as sub-optimal. It doesn’t even help that we’re

We’re probably all better off because some people have autism. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an evolutionary explanation for its prevalence. However, there are so many consequences to being “abnormal” that most neurotypicals would refu

I blocked Facebook as an adult website on my phone. It’s kind of a hack, there’s no other way to restrict FB use in iOS aside from deleting the app. Good riddance though. Now I can’t plop down on the couch, open FB, and get lost in that cha

I agree. On the whole, with a service economy and comparative advantage, we should be better off as a result. Automation, however, is redistributing a greater share of wealth to those with capital. The adverse side effects of that phenomeno
