It would be cool if Opera published presto's source code. Even just for historical reasons. I'm sure there's legal and financial reasons they don't. I was a huge fan and tried to convert my friends from 2004-2012. It was

This implies your code has fewer than 2¹²² variables. A real coder should have more than that in each method. Sounds like you're basically a glorified VB "dev."

Imagine this being a turning point in human history. This seemingly mundane HN post links to humanities defining discovery for centuries. This begins a path that takes us to the stars and a post scarcity species. More likey there's som

Same on my vizio tv. Most apps are fine. Amazon is laggy and search input is basically unusably slow. Hulu also does weird stuff but we're complaining about amazon today.

AMD tried something similar and the Kernel maintainers rejected the patch. At least that's how I understood it. I think this is a HN post about it: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13142285

I'm going to be that person and say it doesn't matter. Either you're a consumer who really only cares about a finished product's performance or you're a chip designer who has the time and money to research past the

Thanks for this info. I assumed there was a specific reason they used this setup. I was joking about using tape. Too bad we can't make x-ray leds.

An option would be to replace the laser and tin with some tape. [1] I know tape is a consumable item but is considerably less professional compared to a laser. [1] https://www.nature.com/news/2008/081022/full&

If the screen told us the fault we would finally have come full circle. My 89 accord lxi's ECU had a blinking light (under the driver's seat) that communicated the detected fault. Yeah you needed a lookup chart but those were not

Oh yeah it's a joke. It was such a perfect setup I couldn't resist. My grandma had a black t-top in the late 90s. Somewhat ironically, considering this comment thread, it was rear ended at a stop light during the day.

So now you generalize that these devs are terrible? They do this one thing I don't like. That doesn't say anything about the quality of their work overall.

Back in 2008-9 or so I had a 3g altel phone during the Verizon merger. If I forced my phone to 3g I could connect to Verizon towers. It was such a great feeling tethering my phone to my laptop to play WoW at 70 MPH. *I wasn't driving.
