I've seen some negativity in the last few days from people getting very impatient. I do appreciate the openness as long as it is genuinely honest. I expect to get my own Librem 5 early next year. I hope.

Allowing any company to decide what you are allowed to use and run on your device is always a bad idea. It is unfortunate that these devs took so long to realize this.

I understand why they are there but that has nothing to do with freedom. Forcing people to obey rules if they want to use the software is not freedom. In contrast, MIT gives and requires nothing. That is true freedom.

MIT is the better license because it is more free than GPL. GPL comes with specific obligations.
