I was talking about the WiFi bandwidth not your 3G/4G bandwidth Spectrum is spectrum. Convention centers don't own WiFi spectrum any more than they own cell phone spectrum.

Why do the people vote for judges that will sit quiet whilst someone provably lies in court? Most voters don't have information about such incidents or enough time to crawl through court records looking for that information. Actually

I don't know. We don't run it overnight. I just use a pair of box fans (≈ intake + exhaust) to push cool night air through my room.

My apartment has one, but it's too loud to run it overnight. The vent itself doesn't seem like a big deal though. It falls shut when the fan isn't in use.

You can fix catch these errors with a suitably advance type system Not that it matters in most cases though. A programmer picking a language for a project does not realistically have access to the full design space of type systems. If the

We can even fully infer types if you're willing to accept some quite reasonable restrictions on how polymorphic your code is. Personally, I don't consider "don't pass a polymorphic function to another polymorphic funct

For example, want to experiment with programming languages? You must plough your way through parsing (a solved problem) and maybe some variety of VM to emit code for before you can even start actual work. Why? If you're just trying t

Airports are a fine substitute if you're going from one major city to another, but I sure wouldn't have flown from Houghton to Traverse. It was only when I moved to Boston that not having a car meant freedom.

No change in writing style will let the researcher who reads it get out of thinking about how the ideas might be useful in their own work, what the authors might have done wrong without realizing it, etc.

For any book, there exists some program which generates it, but most books are not created that way (so we consider those books to be products of human creativity).

APL's syntax is only simple if you consider parsing as a language acceptance check. Getting the actual syntax tree requires knowing what will be assigned to what names during run time.

Rocks don't have their own rules on how to "execute." Calling the rocks Turing-complete is like pointing to a Turing machine's tape and saying it's the tape that's Turing-complete :-P

What have’t we done. Attached that behavior to the struct itself so that invoking a struct's "area" function could give any of several different behaviors depending on exactly what "rect" struct you have.
