That's not the rules > On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intelle

Interesting. I'm having a problem right now with a motherboard I just bought that has an Intel 2.5gb nic. Running Truenas connected to my gigabit switch I get a solid 110MB/s transfer but connected to my multi gig switch its down

Since you were level headed enough to make this comment, don't you think some introspection is in order? Come on now. Mask Requirement -> Might as well die in a car crash, that doesn't sound particularly sane.

It's not pride that has been hurt...it's a US navy warship being blown up.

It's really hard for me to believe the USN allows countries to blow up their warships then has the courtesy to hide it domestically. The whole purpose of the USN is a show of force and power projection. If countries are allowed to take

Blowing up a USN warship is not testing, it's action.

Something doesn't add up here. If it's China's official policy that it blatantly and deliberately attacked a USN warship, why aren't we at war with them? They've never directly attacked any other US ships or planes

Dogs are not naturally occurring.

I'm not sure if this was the point he was trying to make but dog breeding is why dogs exist.

The traits that make a dog best for breeding in a more natural environment don't necessarily make them good for pets.

Personally I just worry that the result would be all dogs being pitbull mixes.

I had this exact experience. We had a successful hackathon led by the engineering team where we just built cool things that somewhat aligned with the business. The "Innovation" team decided we were pushing into their turf and took

Not this again. You'd have to have an army of suicidal fanatics to get them to take off in Super Tucanos against a squadron of F-35s or any American jet really. The F-35 is just going to BVR lob unavoidable AMRAAMs. Add some F-15/

Wow! 66% of Android devices support Vulkan. That's amazing. Thanks for finding that.

/Shrug I would buy a new MacBook Pro if it supported Vulkan. I am not a game developer. I just want DXVK and Wine to run well for light gaming on my multithousand dollar laptop with high end gpu. Your argument is pretty much Apple shou

They would because it would mean more software support. Proper support for Vulkan would not be an abstraction layer. Metal is not the language of the hardware, GPUs operate on assembly like instructions. These are not publicly documented or

If Apple supported Vulkan it would pretty quickly be at parity with Linux for gaming. Proton/Wine/DXVK would actually make a new Macbook Pro a viable option for gaming.

Many "native" Mac OS games are using MoltenVK. Obviously a translation layer is already not optimal for performance or efficiency.

You still need a buffer to pay for expenses...$3000 to someone with Upper Income is not a lot. I don't think anyone is liquidating assets to pay for their electric bill.
