Since you are already using an API wrapper, i would highly recommend using a lib that is provider-agnostic, such as libcloud[0], which provides a pythonic abstraction layer over all the crap that various IaaS providers put into their API de

I have no problem paying people for content. However, if I'm not able to get the content I want, I don't feel as good. The problem isn't trying to save money. It's accessibility.

Look, if it's possible to pay under $20 a month for unlimited downloading from a usenet provider, and take advantage of existing services to stream media to almost all devices, is it really worth it to pay Netflix for a subpar library?

This is an interesting idea. However, it's not always the case that timeless messages are more important than messages that are important during a specific timeframe. In addition, most people nowadays expect things to have instant feed

What's the point of monitoring your infra if the report never reaches the party who cares?
18. 408.▲
    by kbar13 13y ago

I disagree. The whole point of IaaS is that the hardware/hypervisor/network is the provider's responsibility, and everything inside of your VM is yours. If the provider isn't doing due diligence to monitor their infra, t

To be honest, 9 host machines is nothing like displaying status for hundreds if not thousands of host machines in a large-scale deployment in major IaaS providers.

customized views for relevant infra is probably the most important part of a good statuspage. I'm surprised it isn't as common yet. Most people don't go to a status page to check out how their provider as a whole is running.

This is precisely what everyone with a virtual machine (or a physical machine i guess) should be doing. Set up your puppet/chef/salt/ansible configs, make sure they are up to date. Use those to deploy your application, and th
