just keep a different Wifi open for the older stuff, or just don't upgrade as you clearly are not interested in having secure networking.

But SF in general is such a unique case because of the huge tech market and high cost of living. 70-80k EUR in Berlin get you as far as 150k USD in SF i would imagine. Also very different cultures and socioeconomics in terms of taxes, state

When I asked a Swede why salaries in Stockholm are comparatively low even by german standards (mostly because cost of living is higher in scandinavia while salaries are similar) he told me that it might have to do with the fact that in Swed

Seems like Joel is quite stubborn regarding his values and vision for Buffer, which i believe is a good thing but i can see how it can lead to differences with co-founders and investors once the vision does not align anymore. Felt like it w

I am german, so yes i guess you could say i am fluent. However, since the studies are mostly remote and a lot of communication is in written form, you should get by with okayish german during the semester and exams. There are quite some ess

In my case it's https://www.vfh.de/ which is a group of Universities of Applied Science throughout Germany that offer a selection of degrees. I myself am in Berlin, experiences may vary between different universities.

I am a Senior Software Engineer in my mid thirties doing an Online degree at a local university of applied science in Germany. I am doing most of the work at home and just go there 4 times per semester and once for exams, but i have a lot o

how are Xbox or PS different than a PC with a controller ? Even most of the games are available on either platform. It's just an ecosystem and a few exclusives, even the hardware in modern consoles is basically a x86 PC.

I think you can get pretty close by investing a lot of time into configuring your perfect linux desktop, but hardly anyone is willing to do that as OSX or even Windows is good enough for most people.

I am not convinced that you really need lambda and all that complexity. I also don't really like the characteristics of Lambda, taking forever to wake up and limited debugging. A $5 DO/Hetzner Instance can already do a lot if you

you were using a 7 year old Laptop with a HDD in 2018 ? Some people don't seem to have any hardware requirements at all.. While i could tolerate a CPU from 2011, using it without an SSD feels so slow today, it's barely usable tbh.

I think the reason is LPDDR3 which only goes up to 16GB with Intels chipsets, they would need to use Desktop class ram to go above which uses a lot more power. [1] https://macdaddy.io/macbook-pro-limited-16gb-ram/
