Pretty excited about this, i just hope it won't cost alot of extra fees, Unity Pro for multiple platforms is already quite an investment.

I have two alpha state multiplayer games for sale (c# unity3d), one is Desktop/Browser only, one also has an iOS client. Complete with Client/Server code, tons of assets (arts/sound/music), concepts, videos, Web backend

Tragic and shows that no matter how healthy your lifestyle, life can still end in unexpected ways much too early.

Unity runs well with a Scripting approach and for everybody where thats not enough, you can still get the full source license. I think Unity did it quite clever in that the engine itself is c/c++ and all the interfacing with the engine

Can anyone compare this to Xamarin in terms of features/stability/workflow ? Xamarin is .NET/C# which is arguably nicer than Java but its also not too cheap if you just want to play around with stuff.

While i don't agree with this completely there is some truth to it. I ran an accelerator funded gaming startup for 2 years and was obsessed with development and coding. Most of the real CEO work was done on the side without much focus.

Partly unrelated but i have read strong evidence[1] suggesting that the ExpressJS author (TJ) does not even exist as a real person and is an entirely constructed online identity who is portrayed by different people. Not that it matters too

Why is such a dumb link-baity article on the frontpage? Yeah 500K people get murdered every year, but how about: - How to avoid getting killed in a car accident ? (1.2M yearly worldwide fatalities) - How to avoid heart disease ? (7M deaths)

I want the mobile web to succeed as much as the next guy here, i am just talking about the general smartphone using population. But even for me, things like twitter/facebook/youtube are just a better experience in app form.

Reality is that the mobile web experience currently is worse than native mobile apps. No matter how much you want "open", or how much faster your latest web-mobile framework is, right now people still prefer the app experience. Th

Thinking it sucks that tech becomes increasingly easy seems short sighted. That is the main driver of innovation for the future, more people getting involved, easier to work with tech, easier to distribute products. That's a good thing

Biggest problem with UDP: No support at all in modern browsers without plugin. So when doing web games, you can't really get around using Websockets which are TCP based.
