Enjoying working on my open source 3D system written in Common Lisp. Brief trailer: https://youtu.be/i0CwhEDAXB0 Been pondering the consequences of a "language-based" system (i.e. REPL-driven) as opposed to a GUI-

The key to the success of AI models in animation production is going to be how "directable" they are. Even with traditional procedural techniques, this is an issue. It's relatively straightforward to generate a procedural for

The JPL Lisp story is a fun story, and cool application of Lisp over 20 years ago. But it is by no means a Lisp success story. There is a reason no space probe since then has been controlled using Lisp (as far as I know). Your links didn&#x

I can't express how much I agree with everything you say. Often, I've wondered if Lisp attracts, due to it power and flexibility, a certain type of "lone hacker" who builds amazing but unscalable ivory towers of abstract

What we need are examples of Lisp-style languages leading to big wins. Clojure did that to some extent, but unfortunately in the Common Lisp world successful commercial or technical projects are few and far between. Our best bet is probably

CLOS extends the Common Lisp philosophy of emphasizing developer flexibility, possibly at the expense of execution efficiency (not trying to open a can of worms here). For any application of substantial size, I can't imagine not using

I have always found that a weak point. Is there an "opposite" key binding to C-c C-c than will undefine/unintern an entity?

Thanks. It has been, and continues to be, a lot of fun. The next big step is moving to Vulkan/Metal. I'm still developing on a board front, laying the groundwork for a variety of development directions. The latest thing I implemen

I think the onus should be on the UI designers to present features when they are needed. This means making an effort to model the users' workflow, which is not trivial. A good first step can be seen in Lightroom, where the TAB key will

Been plugging away at kons-9, my IDE for 3D production. Some basic UI, Windows port, and most recently a mass-spring model for animating flexible geometry as well as generating web-like structures. Sample video in link.

My gut feeling is that this hasn't been true for a long time, unless you're really implementing a small test. Even then, using CLOS is quicker than deciding that "CDDR" refers to attribute "X". Modern CL is ref
