Thanks, I'll try and keep an eye out for that. EDIT: There is a smaller thing I noticed: a function on its own is a syntax error in GNU APL (and they can't be assigned to variables either).

An emacs mode for what? I don't use emacs much but would be up for using it it helps me with something. Fairly happily plodding along with just the GNU APL interpreter and akt though (and akt seems to work with vim through invoking `ak

Thanks for the link. Do you know if there is something similar for GNU APL? Do you think it will be annoying to switch to GNU APL after going through this? I'd rather not spend time learning a proprietary interpreter if there's a

I think what you are asking is about just learning basic electronics and the digital protocols that connect different "modules" (and what kind of extra circuitry they need). For most consumer stuff (i.e. if you are not working on

You might want to check out the Eclipse Layout Kernel. I don't know if it supports everything you listed but it does seem to make for some neater graphs. https://www.eclipse.org/elk

Bit late to the party, a lot of great answers already and I can't add much more but this list of resources I maintain will probably be useful to you, especially the learning and video section. https://github.com/monosta

Are you quoting something or is this your own mini code of conduct?

No, there is a question on a grant application form to link to the code of conduct if there is one. _Mild_ pressure to have one I should have said maybe.

I feel like that would just be avoiding the issue (burying my head in the sand, so to speak).

I am faced with feeling pressured to add a CoC for one of my own projects in order to apply for funding. I am unsure what to put up. It seems like a massive task to me. I quite like the CoC of the EMF camp as it seems to the point, un-ambig

I love these kinds of grid step sequencers and have had an obsession with them since I saw a Monome as a teenager. I tried to make my own capacitive touch hardware once that could work as one. Eventually I just settled on writing a MIDI Nod

Thanks for the tips. I checked out the O2 amp and it's extensively documented! For 2. it might be worth integrating with some of the part managements systems. https://github.com/monostable/awesome-electronics#inven

I do take requests but mostly for documenting other people's projects and getting them in a state to be put up. I was going to have a go at HackRF [1] next but if you know any good projects you would like to see put up, let me know. h

Yes! I had this idea too (or maybe I stole it off you, who knows :). Though I changed my mind at some point and thought I would first do it according to preferred retailer (since I normally want to order at Farnell and then RS, if Farnell d

Cheers! I don't think it's in competition with Tindie either. I want the site to serve a niche of creators that can't be bothered with the rest (i.e. packing and selling). I think this opens up a world of designs that don

I like it, I might add that to the description. But what sets a Heathkit apart from a regular kit? Sometimes I describe it as "a place for virtual kits". (Also, didn't Heathkit make a little bit of a comeback? http:/&#x

All great feature requests and will be implemented one day (if I don't get hit by a bus). Linking up the board preview with the parts list, to help soldering and debugging, has been on the roadmap for Kitspace for quite a while. Here i

Hey HN, I created Kitspace in an effort to help open source electronics be a bit more like open source software. The aim is to make it as easy as possible to replicate designs without the creator having to bag components to make kits. I hav

You can try with Digikey, Newark or Farnell. Once I find time I'll do a shared-cart trick with Mouser as well so the extension will be needed less, though the extension can also be easier expanded to more retailers that don't offe
