As an anecdote, I am an artist and I am barely able to visualize anything. I talked with many other artists about this, and it seems that most artists are able to visualize images in their minds eye, but nobody mentioned to me that it felt

It is not. I recently was talking to an artist who told me that if he's drawing a car for example, he can envision everything in front of his minds eye, from any angle he wants. I am completely unable to envision anything at daytime wh

I could always perfectly imagine songs, make up music in my head, etc. I have no experience with music. On the other hand, I am almost completely unable to imagine anything with my minds eye willingly. I have been drawing for 15 years now,

Many people who invested in Doge assured me that this is definitely not a pyramid scheme.

This is a comment someone who doesn't understand how Bitcoin fundamentally works would write. Just because people like to call it a cryptocurrency it does not have much in common with the US Dollar.

Pretty spot-on! I think it's fair to call Bitcoin a ponzi scheme, it is not and will not be a stable currency, it's value isn't backed by anything and it needs constant new investment to work at all.

I was indifferent about it at first. main is a good name, master as well. It was completely unnecessary for reasons pointed out in the article. Now, I can agree, f ck this change. I work with a lot of legacy repos, multiple devs, and I alwa

More accurate would be to say that NFTs are additional fuel for the ecological disaster that is ETH. Your analogy makes little sense in this context. Mining hardware will always run at 100% capacity, regardless of the amount of transactions

I'd be excited about a widely adopted cryptocurrency that doesn't gobble up insane amounts of energy and needs an ever increasing amount of computing power to keep it from collapsing, but right now Bitcoin is using almost as much

Oh, I forgot that bitcoin mining hardware just magically appears and never ends up on a landfill, power plants don't need to be built and maintained, and of course Bitcoin is probably 100% powered by renewables, right?

Oh, so then it's ok to have a "currency" where one transaction uses 650kWh, 12000000 times more than a credit card transaction. I get all the benefits of crypto, but there are also massive downsides, the biggest being the ene

The energy used by bitcoin would simply have been not-used. Massive numbers of e-waste would've been avoided as well. Of course, if it wasn't Bitcoin, another cryptocurrency would use as much energy as Sweden right now.

Massive. Just as an example, a Bitcoin transaction uses 12.000.000 times as much energy as a VISA transaction. I'm honestly getting tired of this argument. Just think about how much energy a Bitcoin transaction uses. Then scale that up

That is a completely useless comparison. If anything, compare energy usage per transaction. If you would hypothetically scale up the transaction volume of the Bitcoin network to the entire USD financial system, you'd quickly find out t

I don't think you realize the scale of it. Bitcoin is primarily used for speculation, the value is only based on more and more people buying in, and the energy usage is overwhelming. We are in dire need of reducing overall energy usage
