Interesting. What happened next?

I agree with you mostly. Android is slooowly catching up in the looks department, but Apple is still way ahead. My first impression of Android was that they desperately copied Apple UI, but failed to make it as good either because of lack o

This does happen, but I think it's more likely with our mind scanning our vision feed 24/7 for eye contact, the whole of it, unfocused areas. Determining if "someone is looking at me" was rather important for survival. I'd love more informa

I use ctrl+backspace to delete last word in any/most editors.

Thanks, but I don't see how that adds or takes away from "did in 2006", unless of course you state that the phone was built during first 9 days of 2007 before going public.

Very interested to see what htc and samsung did that apple copied? I'm talking about presentation style and phone visuals, not that it's "a phone, someone did a phone before, so they're copying a phone".

Looks like Chinese copy of what Apple did in 2006, despite the technical specs.

Looks cool and polished. Email client space is heating up, I wonder how this will fare against sparrow. By the way, does anyone know how the DOF effect in the video is achieved? Guess it was added during post processing in software.

Same thought too, but I think there must be a good reason for that. Maybe achieving same interactivity with html5 is just too much work yet.

Yes, that's what I meant. Bah, they start out simple, then duct tape words and it gets messy.. HTC Desire -> HTC Desire Z, HTC Desire S, HTC Desire HD, Samsung Galaxy and all of it's variations etc.

My knowledge might be expired, but what HTC phone currently holds the performance/tech crown? I thought Samsung's Galaxy SII is on the top now and soon to be released Google Nexus S 4G (made by Samsung, afaik). I own HTC myself currently.

That's a massive list of videos there, must have taken an enormous amount of time to build and the website is likely live for a couple of years already. Strange that I never heard of it, while at the same time Khan Academy has been getting

Thanks for sharing, this looks useful, though not sure the shit mantra is necessary.

Programming is my hobby. I work on a startup product in my spare time, one question I'm faced with - is it possible to balance corporate work, startup idea and have time for side (hobby) projects? If startup product is not my main task when

I remember an attempt to write operating system in Python primarily, it was called "unununium", apparently the project died, but the site is still up http://unununium.org , though it now talks about ASM, not Python. A quick google finds th

Their company is called "TheRednerGroup" it seems while the guy himself is named Jim Redner. I guess no one's gonna fire him from this job..

I think this is far from production ready code and this guy just wanted compact code. Perfectly fine for a quick copy/paste demo. Another thought - this could be the output of his packed code, sort of like what we get when downloading mooto

git cloned test.html did not work with latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari for me, yet yours does. I find it strange that there's some policy more restrictive on local content than on remote one, provided yours work perfectly.

I used to have both, firebug and webdev inspector when I was into html more than I'm now, can't remember any problems with them co-existing.

I have 165 personal passwords, and around 50 related to corporate stuff. Stored in KeePass in a TrueCrypt container on Dropbox, that way I'm able to access all of them across my linux/win/osx machines.

#1 sounds nice, but I'd guess we're limited by the mechanical precision of the needle to track single-atom wide surfaces.

Aren't you bored of driving the same car for 10 years? Not making fun, genuinely interested.

Is it fully electric or still a hybrid? If MPG was your primary consideration, why not VW Polo/Lupo or Audi A2 with diesel engines?

by karolist 15y ago
00' BMW 330d manual, amazing torque and great MPG, when remapped this engine pulls this car 0-60 in sub 7 secs, smokes (literally) 330i's for a fraction amount of fuel it's petrol brother takes. Possibly the best road diesel engine ever bui

Same in Lithuania actually. But.. 9-5ers? Do you really have 35 hour work week as opposed to 40 ( (17-9-1h lunch) * 5) or was it just digested for the American reader?

by karolist 15y ago
Yes, that is true.

"Not sure" in this context was meant demonstrate I'm open to both variants of the situation, good and bad. Since OP had upvotes already indicating that people find it good/funny/whatever, the point was to bring other side of this to light.

by karolist 16y ago
Yes, that's why I said "Not sure".

by karolist 16y ago
Not sure if that's a good thing. I wouldn't say the same for a comment on another site (different things drive different people), but I assume you have some aspirations to make it and be your own boss.

I've known some C for long enough, but only recently dived really deep into it, it was Apple and Objective-C that brought back my interest in the language. Writing some forensics and data restore tools as a project to learn the language, pr
