I've asked myself the same question after recently playing Battle Isle 1 again... Seems to me like the learning curve of modern games was so much shallower. But this is of course only one example and not representative as such.

IIRC the sensor uses optical flow and hence doesn't measure speed "directly" -- in spite of the fact that the article states so at its very beginning. Anyway, this technique is kind of promising and I'm curious to see the future results.

Let's just hope that meanwhile the developers got it right and those games can be installed on case-sensitive filesystems. IMO this is a huge problem with game software on OS X, even Steam f * it up when recently they approached the Mac.
