What I miss from these sort of apologies is an actual postmortem like the one we'd have for a software bug. What was this oversight? What caused it? What are you exactly doing to prevent it from happening in the future?

Query builders are still an antipattern (what we traditionally think of when we say query builders) because they are still a DSL that (1) you have to learn along with SQL and (2) never map cleanly to actual SQL, so you always have to resort

This is not about "future" or "past" dates but (to use Temporal as a common language) whether the date is an Instant or a ZonedDateTime conceptually. I think that's essentially what you mean, but it's an import

I've always been obsessed with true P2P WebRTC with QR codes but, at least back in the day, Firefox fails the offer under a very short timeout (~5 secs IIRC) which made out of band signaling completely impossible.

Good observation. Could you share the math even if you don't trust it? I don't have pen and paper here and I'm curious. After thinking it more, I have the feeling (against my initial intuition) that v4 might dominate either w

You have to generate 2^37 (137,438,953,472) UUIDv7s in the exact same millisecond to have a 50% chance of collision. (Not disagreeing with you, just adding perspective.)

Perhaps you're confusing it with something else? I tried down to Node 8 (2017) and the behavior is still the same. Maybe a bug in userspace promises like Bluebird? Or an older Node where promises were still experimental? I love a good

You're not wrong, but monolithic kernel drivers run at a privilege level that's even higher than root (ring 0) while microkernels run them at userspace so they're as dangerous as running a normal program.

I like how Temporal[0] does this. What you were dealing with is Temporal.PlainDate[1], i.e. a date with a calendar associated but no time or timezone (might be due to being implied but also might be irrelevant, like in birthdates). Temporal
