It depends a lot on the specific business and company stage. E.g. CTOs at boutiques basically meet clients and put on a performance to instill trust. CTOs on product startups with little funding are more like "I'll hire a teammate

> You either make presentation the server job or the client job Is that your axiom or do you have any justification? I just don't agree with it. Why should the server know about a datepicker's internal details?

As someone that knows both Lisp and RSC, I don't think this is a great analogy since it misses nuances and intention in both sides of the equation. The crux of Lisp's code-is-data-is-code is that you can manipulate S-expressions s

Maybe it's where I'm imagining we're headed (and not where we're actually headed) but I think it will bring us into the sweet spot that I want/need: good old PHP-like server-rendered sites (or even static pages) wit

It's indeed to log you in to multiple Google properties at once. It's not needed for e.g. Gmail (since it's a subdomain under google.com) but YouTube is in its own domain so it has no access to google.com's cookies.

Async's issue is not coloring. It's introducing issues that just don't exist in sync code like pinning, synchronization, future lifetimes... Coloring just exacerbates the issues because it's viral, not because coloring i

Or rather, why is it not much worse than an actual C compiler. In an apocalyptic event energy would be precious. You'd rather have an optimizing compiler to run longer off your solar-charged car battery or whatever. I like the rolepl

DNS feels like it should be easy to proxy. Or just have more distributed resolvers. Why isn't it done more? Is it super expensive? Maybe due to UDP allowing traffic-amplification attacks?

I meant to compare abstract-ish stuff (like these monkeys) vs actual low-level within the GPU realm, i.e. thinking in GPU architecture terms. E.g. appropriately choosing a workgroup[0] size, optimizing your buffer layouts for specific acces
