Íñigo Quílez's (Shadertoy's creator) articles should be a start point. http://iquilezles.org/www/index.htm He's got a YouTube channel with step by step explanations too.

Conway's Game of Life. Easily paralellizable, visually attractive, fun to code and use, has a narrow scope but can be improved with goodies (e.g. color for cell age). If you implement realtime interactivity, it forces you to bridge the

It doesn't matter if you consciously know something is false if your brain still presents it as true. Think anxiety. Or like on the movie A Beautiful Mind (I know it's a movie but it happens IRL too). Or being under the influence

Sorry, I submitted my comment too early by mistake (fat finger on mobile phone) and I heavily edited it before I noticed your reply (your last paragraph won't make sense). You got a nice point there. I guess I conflated western music w

The thing all of these new notations miss is the fact that western music is constructed stacking thirds on top of each other. A major chord is a root, a 3rd on top of it, and another minor 3rd (or R+3+5 relative to its root). Add another 3r

Unless the problem space allows you to keep searching after a solution and discard it if a second one is found. Heuristics are fast and natural, but hard to get right. They're handy to constrain the problem space though, but I would st

Music is completely relative and context dependent. There's no such thing as an absolute minor scale: it all depends on what has been and what's to come. It's hard to derive a strong tonality from just a scale, they're p

Given your second paragraph... are you perhaps confusing tonality with chord quality? Amin (the chord) is a diatonic chord of C major (the tonality). Also, it's easy to play "random" chords from a tonality and end up in a dif
