But I think other memory safe languages don't have C++-like performance, right?

I thought it's about preventing inappropriate reactivation? As in, the key slightly bouncing back and forth when you press it, thereby registering two (or more) activations per press

Flights are just a set of two dates, not a range, like the other comment mentions. I thought about it and this applies to an AirBnB, or more generally, a vacations, too. A vacation from Nov 25 to Nov 27 doesn't mean you stay from Nov 2

I think this is ridiculous. The point of food should be to taste good, not for the eater to feel smug for having real expensive stuff on their plate. As long as my food is delicious, I don't care whether it has the expensive original i

In my opinion, leap seconds are accumulated so slowly that the impact of abolishing leap seconds won't be noticeable in daily life for a couple hundred years. As the article said, many countries jump forwards and backwards an entire ho

No, not the more the better. Comments should be easily updatable to keep up with code changes. If every refactor involves redrawing a bunch of fancy ASCII art, you'll either get less refactors, or outdated comments

Most middlemen are useful, but some are not. The article explains this: > They had to work through dealerships as middlemen [...] largely as a way of spreading risk. [...] Those conditions are, arguably, gone today.

Child is used in many contexts, and not all of them are covered by "small person" or "new person", true. But I think the point is that you can come up with a precise alternative term for"child" in most contexts

Key _changes_ are audible, but you can't tell a key on its own in equal temperament (except if you have perfect pitch)

You need perfect pitch to be able to tell two keys apart with no reference tone. I'm pretty sure the key connotations are placebo by now

People claiming rhythm games require low latency is a pet peeve of mine. Rhythm games have knobs to offset the music, most even have sync wizards (tapping to the beat). If you have 200ms input delay, just have the game offset the music by -

I think the reason is that the indexing paragraph comes across as quite misinformed. The age of the baby would be 1 year even in 0 based indexing (age is a duration, not an index). And pointers are only one of many places where 0 based inde

What complexity and hardware costs are you referring to? You need to have a decent graphics card, which most PC gamers do, and connecting the headset is just plugging in the cables into the PC (HDMI and USB for ours)
