Maybe they need to tackle the underlying drug problem, rather than twitter fix it's downtime problem? The world revolved before twitter, and it will continue to revolve long afterwards.

It's like all those stupid adverts you see on TV for mega-extreme-fitness-workout or call-meet-super-sexy-local-girl. Always wondered who would actually but this rubbish or call those stupid premium rate numbers, but the very fact there are

Well, that's the same value the big pharma's put on human life when it can't afford their high priced drugs, so I don't see anything not smart about it.

Out of interest, what kind of healthcare reforms are you talking about? Something like they have in the US, via paid insurance, or something like they have in the UK with "free" healthcare for all via the NHS? If it's the latter, with a pop

Question: Do these laptops that NewEgg sell have a hidden restore partition like most laptops do these days? I think these are normally accessible via some F-key setting on bios startup... so not very difficult unless you have deleted this

Yes, sadly you are right, and it's cos of this (IMO) that you end up in this situation. I'd hire an average JS guy over a average jQuery guy any day.

I agree, but I totally think it depends on your market. I would love nothing more than IE <9 to die a horrible death (I actually really like IE9). Some things are just bizarre. But we're in the business of making money, and as long as

I've seen many banks that have legacy systems what ONLY work in IE6, so they can't upgrade until they apps are re-written, but those apps are so big they don't want to touch it or they have some longer term project to replace this, blah bla

From this I get 1. A server side developer (C#/Java/PHP/Whatever) trying to be a HTML designer 2. A n00b HTML designer that's not been around long enough to know the different IE box models and workarounds needed. I'd guess 2. You can get m

I'm working on a project for a major bank here in the UK, one of the requirements of IE6 and no Javascript. Seriously. It's anal. But it's how their system runs internally, so for management to be able to "test" the new site it needs to wor

Yes, agree on all your points. I have a colleague who buys Macs purely because their build quality is so high and less likely to break. I'm sure Apple could have designed a new connector for the RAM, and not glued the battery in such a

Yeah, fair enough. You're assuming that a Mac repair shop will un-glue the battery and not regard it as "oh well, you need a new one" like they do when say a TV part breaks these days (they may well be able to, I genuinely don't know). Prob

You don't have to replace the whole engine if your car battery dies, even in a BMW, regardless of warranty status. Yes, that was my whole point... I don't have to replace the engine because the battery isn't glued to it. So I may have t
