I'm actually with you to a degree - but on the flip side, should we expect repercussions for something like this? Should we just be ok with it? As an industry we tend to play it pretty fast and loose compared to other engineering disci

Sorry, I'm confused now. You stated above that JFK has passengers going both ways - so isn't this exactly the kind of fare an Uber would want to take on?

This does not seem to jive with the parent comment to whom I was originally replying though: "Ubers don't want to go to the airport for the same reason that cabs don't."

You seem very sensitive about this, so once again I'll just mea culpa and say I never stood up and yelled j'accuse - your description of the problem just made little sense to me and I was trying to discuss how it might be possible

Fair enough. I've been taking Ubers to JFK for years and have never had this happen - but I guess everyone has their own experiences.

I've never used Lyft so couldn't comment there. And you're jumping to a conclusion assuming I was jumping to a conclusion. I was just trying to make sense of how that could happen as you described.

It's easy to read that as an either-or, but you could also frame it as an either-of-these-two? I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

I understand and respect the fact that this may be your opinion colored by your own experiences, but as a long time New Yorker I have to admit I giggled a bit when I read your fairy tale statement re: yellow cabs.

Ultimately I think you'll learn a lot from any of the big three, but in my personal opinion Firebase Functions (really just a thin wrapper around Google Cloud Functions) will get you parsing request/response with the least amount

Interestingly enough, I get this same feeling of being constrained while being tethered to a desk. I love the ability to move to the kitchen, or the couch, or outside. I've tried using external monitors before and I'm so used to v

Couldn't the original poster of said video be the one to seed it if it was so important to them that it be viewable to others. Why is the onus on a company or organization to host personal videos for free? (If I'm misrepresenting

In my experience this is precisely when social deduction games go from good to great. The layers of obfuscation can get pretty deep when your friend knows you know how he would act if you knew what he knew.

Interestingly enough I have the complete opposite reaction. I find the various AWS consoles to be fragmented and obtuse compared to GC, which feels pretty organized to me.

Ha, nice crap ;) I've been using Parcel for a couple of weeks now (Vue) and there are definitely some rough edges to it - but overall it's been far less cumbersome than Webpack. There are a couple sticky bugs with PostCSS import

Having gotten hosed in the past by a Shangainese tailor (largely my fault - wasn't nearly specific on my ask), I'd actually really appreciate the reference. Contact details in my profile if you really don't mind.

Grave of the Fireflies destroyed me in college. I was ~20 at the time and cried like a baby for a solid 10 minutes. I'm now a grown man and I'm not sure rewatching would yield different results.
