The styling isn't perfect, feel free to modify, but it's good enough to show the two side by side and see how people react. I guess it'd be interesting to do it the other way round too.

This has the same problem as Facebook Likes - you can create a +1 for a url other than the one you are currently on. And spot the javascript callback which encourages a '+1 this page to reach the video' setup.

I've run that on all manner of devices and infrastructures and it has never told me I will have any problems on World IPv6 Day. That's not because it is inacurate, it's because the vast majority of setups will continue to work perfectly on

That BBC article makes it sound like they interviewed him. All the quotes however come from his tweets (verbatim or reworded).

Assuming this is even true, it was faked before the news came out and was thus an inside job. What possible reason would they have for doing this? How do these tweets improve the position of the US?

So store it all on one of those fake Chinese USB drives. That gives a nice illusion, and is incredibly cheap... Alternatively we could consider what level of reliability you want and how that will be tested.

That has been my issue with Dotcloud too, when it works its fine - when it breaks its really difficult to debug. It feels more restricted than the Heroku environment too, so even if I do know what's wrong it can't be fixed.

Have you thought about opening letslunch in other cities? Whether it be doing it yourself, having others do it or open sourcing the code. It should work equally well in certain other cities or regions.

The trouble with any of these sorts of sites is there's no way of only showing the "big" sites, filtering out the sites where the only user is the owner's mother.

I wonder if the date is hard coded or it pulls from an api somewhere? It'd be nice to put up a web page clearly showing the End Of Support date.

Oh I like the sound of this. Though personally I found this to be the easy part; getting Arduino to send web requests to a webserver on button pushes is far harder (especially if you want it to do DHCP and DNS lookups).

This was shown off at the 19th UK Network Operators' Forum Meeting today, and it's pretty awesome once you've got it installed. http://test4.vyncke.org/testv6/ is a similar tool which doesn't use Google Analytics.

Because mining for bitcoins is a lot of work, and ultimately doesn't make huge amounts of money? Because it isn't the job of a currency to evenly distribute the wealth?

It wouldn't matter if GPS info went out over wifi rather than 3G/4G. If you're close enough to sniff wifi then you are probably close enough to have some idea where in the world they are.

Whilst you can use more dedicated tools for debugging http connections than telnet, there is still an argument for protocols simple enough that you can use telnet. Take Arduino for example, writing a naive but working http client is childs

I wonder just how many hours have been wasted today by people chatting on this. I'd have added metrics if I wanted to do anything other than show a minimal working example of Faye/NodeJS with source code.

I'm guessing if I'd only submitted the source code this would have got just one or two upvotes. And it's really the source code I was wanting to share as a way of showing what you can do with Faye/NodeJS.

The main reason for using Faye is probably the fact that it can run on Node.JS or Rack. This example is running Node.JS, but where Faye really excels is in a Rack environment - adding asynchronous functionality to Rails/Sinatra without nee

yeah, I rather stupidly didn't think to add any XSS protection initially because this was a simple tech demo. And yes, I managed to balls up the regex for a while. It's working nicely again now.

Sure there's plenty of node.js chat systems out there, but this is quite a nice demo of Faye and how easy it is to build with it. The Node.JS examples shared previously have been more complete systems from what I can tell, this is a very mi

I spotted this in the docs yesterday when I was looking to deploy a NodeJS app I was playing with. I kept getting an error suggesting nodes wasn't recognised as a deployment type. Do I need to upgrade my installed version of the Dotcloud so
