to justify why a hiring manager picked A and not B, legally speaking, cannot be that I had to pick one out of the amazing candidates, so I picked one. Why not? Does this phrasing implies any form of illegal discrimination?

A word embedding is a representation of a word using many numbers, where each numbers represents some property of the word. Usually we do not know what those properties are because the numbers are learned by a model during processing of a l

Let's see: he must work because he would have too much free time if he didn't, you must work because you would starve if you didn't. Yeah, clearly you're under less stressful conditions.

Given how they've been losing their lead recently, replacing Sam Altman with someone more innovative might be a good idea.

It seems like they lost most of their top talent - probably because of Altman.

Your rich relative has more time than you – he chooses how to spend all his time while you can only choose how to spend part of your time. He chooses to work, you have to work.

I've never ever thought about needing a therapist. Don't remember anyone in my circle who had ever mentioned it. Similar to how I don't remember anyone going to a palm reader. I'm not trying to diss either profession, I&

In NLP, transformers replaced RNNs. In computer vision, CNNs replaced previous methods (e.g. feature descriptors), and recently got replaced by visual transformers, though modern CNNs are still pretty good.

Running a vending machine using an LLM is absurd not because we can't run LLMs fast or cheap enough - it's because LLMs are not reliable, and we don't know yet how to make them more reliable. Our best LLM - o3 - doubled the p

How in the world is this easy and cheap? Are you planning to run this LLM inside the vending machine? Or are you planning to send those prompts to a remote LLM somewhere?

I'm not sure the end result would be lower scoring/smartness than an LLM could achieve in the same duration. It probably wouldn’t with current models. That’s exactly why I said we need smarter models - not more speed. Unless yo

I haven’t tried any of these, recently I’ve been switching between Claude 3.7, Gemini 2.5 pro, and GPT-4.5, with each one producing something interesting once in a while. I usually sketch a plot (sci-fi short story: 10-20 pages), mention a

For me it's the opposite - we don't get enough models to test. In the last 6 months, we got Claude 3.7, OpenAI o1, Grok 3, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and OpenAI o3. That's it - 5 frontier models. Not that hard to test each one of them m
