Unrelated feature request: use photo resolution that matches the TV resolution on Chromecast. Currently 26MP photos casted on a 4k TV (with Chromecast built in) look awful.

I've hard a few hard drives fail in the past decades but I've always been able to retrieve the data. I'm far less confident in a remote company. Your point is valid and constant, seamless backup is indeed a good thing to have

Another $60 buys a water and fireproof safe for the hard drive. I assume it also helps against lightning :-) I honestly think remote backup is an overkill for personal needs and new risks you get by placing your valuable data on someone els

Why not use $60 you're paying per year for 1Tb of online storage to buy a 2Tb hard drive and use it for the backup?

I'm sure that's a big contributor. I myself relied solely on public transport for years we lived close to the subway. Now that we moved outside of the city driving makes more sense.

I'm in central Europe, switched from a train to a car. Reduced commute time, increased comfort and reliability. Costs several times more though.

Please help me understand how one can possibly live a good life, let alone prosper for decades with $5M in the bank without actually spending these millions. When I look around here in Europe, even a 1% interest seems hard to get - some peo

This is an awesome project and I'm very impressed with the skill levels demonstrated, especially the video pipeline. If you just need a thermal camera though, there's a 120 EUR one on AliExpress. https://www.aliexpress.
