The company behind this post recently got into america got talent finals with a deepfake act. It looked pretty convincing to me. Especially compared to state if the art of just 2-3 years ago.

I also don't know why I feel that, but I wonder if it's not for a more selfish reason. As in: "I'm getting old and the things I knew disappear"

What part are you referring to? I don't see any FP stuff in that article... It's all imperative code? Anyway I would recommend learning Haskell. I like languages that allow different styles (like js does to a certain extent). But

As someone unfamiliar with the US juridical system: when can we expect an outcome in court? Or put otherwise: if we assume Musk is stalling in the hope that tesla shares go back up. How long can he keep this going?

There's probably a use case / audience for this, but it's a child's toy compared to stuff like ArcGIS. This is not taking on ESRI at all. $20m is also not that much, mapbox raised 10x that amount and still struggles to f

Note that this is about pre-hooks react, see also the response from Dan Abramov at the bottom of the article. A lot of criticism isn't valid anymore in the hooks-style react (although it comes with is own problems).

Mobx has made me finally appreciate frontend programming again. It's like people want to deal with the insanity that is redux only because it's a more pure functional style which react seems to promote.
