I'm not sure where you get the idea that Genghis Khan is hated in China. As far as I know, he is considered one of the national heroes, I guess partly because China controls Inner Mongolia. For instance, in popular culture, such as Jin

I can assure you that jellyfish is a "fairly common" dish around Shanghai. Besides soy sauce, one can also mix it with some cucumber, black Zhejiang vinegar, fine slices of chili pepper, and sesame. It's a common cold dish. S

You don't necessarily need 10x effort (depending on your definition of "effort"). I'm a Hongkonger. I had lived in Montreal since I was 10 until I finished my bachelor's degree. I didn't really do Saturday scho

It saddens me that so many people focus on the graphics aspect of Vulkan. I wish there were more beginner-friendly tutorials of Vulkan compute . If I'm not mistaken, only 2 out of the 7 tutorials listed cover compute.

There used to be some kind of urban legend or joke about CdS, where a banker refused to invest in CdS, saying "Who the hell would lend money to a bunch of clowns?". The banker, of course, headdesked very hard and for a very long t

I remember living a month in Tokyo back in 2006 (or was it 2007). The house I shared had this toilet where the wash basin drained into the toilet tank. The faucet is activated when you flush the toilet. So once you're done with your #1

I don't know Linux internals enough to be sure, but maybe this bug is a big deal because it would circumvent logging (even remote rsyslog daemons)? I.E. a sudoer could do nasty things on the system while leaving little to no trace?

Given that Bach has just a bit over 1000 pieces of work, and they post usually one piece, and sometimes several short pieces every week, this project will take about 15 years to complete, which is quite impressive.

What part of that page says it has to do with version 2.79 of Blender though? I think the actual page that talks about Cycles rendering performance improvements in version 2.79 is this wiki page: https://wiki.blender.org/ind

This is not actually calligraphy (yet). It's just typeface style transfer, which is an probably an important step towards calligraphy. To be really calligraphy, you would need to train a NN that controls a robotic arm holding a brush.
