I think you choose your browser in Windows before you use it (at least in Europe). // I'm not sure I agree with this law, but it for sure affects browser share.

Oh, didn't know that. In russian version they did very user-friendly editor for their maps called "People's map" and they already show it in their mobile apps. Of course, from licensing perspective, OSM is much better.

No, you just install single software, and dependencies like mysql or postgresql are installed automatically as dependencies (just as other libraries).

   by k_bx 13y ago

It should all be done via apt-get's after-install hooks of your software. More on that, you can do things like supporting any of mysql or postgresql if they're already installed.

I have lots of experience with python (>5 years, and +5 years of web-dev before that) and I have no problem reading some of challenging source code out there of course. I'm rather referring to quality of code itself from the perspec

For me, the worst thing about django is it's source code. Every time I have to dig into some problem, I see really long functions with multiple abstraction levels mixed, a lot of strange names and other code that is really hard to read

I'm not sure what Andrew meant, but as I understand django doesn't have concept of ORM like, for example, SQLAlchemy. What you can do in SqlAlchemy is, your business-objects could be not some inheritances from some "Model&quo

Well, considering that Andrew is an author of South, maybe he just wanted to point out that it's something that should be part of django (simple "add a field" operations).

Thanks for your answer. I really was never aware of git's GC mechanisms before, that's why I was sure that commits still hold inside a tree. And you perfectly answered my question (well, at least parts that I understood all details about, I

Could someone please explain me an argument about removing branch in git vs closing it in mercurial? As I understand, when you "remove" branch in git, just as when you close it in mercurial, it doesn't delete commits from tree either, since
