We need to immediately improve on PIN-code protection upon cash-withdrawal in ATMs. The problem has been there for a while, but man, it gets easier and easier.

Yeah, I didn't mean anything specific (plan figuring that out myself). But I see iPad Air as a good enough $400 solution comparing to shitty-screen laptops. Just need to find decent keyboard for <$100.

Are there daily binaries available somewhere? It stopped building for me starting some time ago and I was too lazy figuring out what's wrong (plus, build-times for prod-build are quite long).

I have to admit, I expected laptops to cover that niche you described (not too expensive and not shitty), but it seems to me that tablets with keyboard-covers will rather do that.

There's Riak S2, which can give you S3-compatible API but still run on your hardware with your configs.

One very strong point which not that many discuss here is how awful websites of non-Apple manufacturers are. They are a strong indication of how bad things are organized and developed at those companies, if they can't make a nice websi

The only big issue with mobile app I found is that you can't just "send to" an image into it to create a post. Not sure if web standards are being developed towards that direction, since I am not sure how would that even look

In order to not become abandoned, open source software needs to be not only open source, but also to have easily accessible source control, issue tracker and other community-required tools. In case of Unison – it's a program done by a

Things I definitely don't like: - swiping to switch between apps (with transition animation) is a no-go, cmd-tab is much better as it is right now - with taking two-finger-swipe for switching apps, you need something to go back and for

It's great to see apt improving. I am still waiting for "apt-get update" to become git-pull-like thing to have much faster update (especially when no recent changes were made) though.

Isn't that.. awful? Computer science is not about computers, it's not about code either. It's about ideas! Ideas, related to computations. Here is a great Ted-talk from Simon Peyton Jones that explains this very well https:&

Kotlin brings few very clear improvements to Java, while Scala is a completely different language. There is no single "make it better" that would work for both. > Hopefully Java will get more functional so that we don't ge

I think this is awesome! One thing – would be really awesome if examples would be editable and you could evaluate them via ClojureScript somehow, that would make a huge advantage I think.

To me, this more looks like a Google's cloud IDE (targeted Java), for which it would of course make sense to have code-hosting there also. It makes sense for Google to have one, unlike just a GitHub competitor, imho.

It does "get shit done" for us perfectly, and type-system only helps here. So I still don't see why it's not suitable for *nix geeks. Give it a try!

I find that for such tasks it makes sense instead of trying to hack around nginx config and its lua scripting, to throw it away and write a small app in, say, Haskell+Warp that would do the job. It's as fast as nginx (and probably fast

Battery life on FireFox is good if you use "lazy tabs" feature. If you need more battery, you just restart the browser and it only loads the tabs you open, so the old ones won't have JS working.

Our Jenkins is configured to sign-in with GitHub. And yeah, it sucked to not be able to get in. Probably in future it's best to move away to non-Gihub accounts.
