"Aider felt much more like I was talking to two different tools" I personally see that as a plus, because other tools are lacking on the tool side. Aider seems to have solid "traditional" engineering behind its tooling

"I want to know that Microsoft, the company famous for dog-fooding is using this day in and day out, with success." They just cut down their workforce, letting some of their AI people go. So, I assume there isn't that much

Aider could really profit from a polished GitHub Actions workflow. Add a file to your repo and you can talk to any model via issues.

Can't you have that already? Put the Aider CLI into a GitHub action that's triggered by an issue creation and you're good to go.

That's not a FOV issue, that's a DOF issue. You can't comfortably use any XR system for more than videos, if you can't use your neck to look around.

With the new 6DoF glasses it could be a viable alternative to a laptop, yes.

I tried it for one project, but converted it to TypeScript-to-Lua instead. I used Lua on the backend and my frontend was already in TypeScript, so it was nice that I could reuse the backend types without conversion in the frontend.

True, but on the other hand, there are a bunch of tasks that are just very typing intensive and not really complex. Especially in GUI development, building forms, charts, etc. I could imagine that LLMs are a great help here.

Sonnet 3.7 was SOTA for quite some time. I built some nice charts with it. It's a rather simple task, but quite LoC-intensive.

Back in the day, my programming techniques professor said something similar. Technical entities get English names, domain entities get German names. I also dimmly remember a German version of VBA.

Strange. In my experience as a German, everyone instantly switches to English if just one non-German speaker is in the group.

Pretty cool. Seems like it could be a nice addition to Aider to supplement repo maps.

German capitalizes all nouns, not just then proper ones, so missing title case doesn't change much.

I mean, deps aren't free. You're buying them with the risk that they could become a threat in the future. At one point it's not worth it anymore.

I often have "no changes" in my Codespaces, because I haven't committed then yet. Would be nice, if Codespaces keeps the JJ change stored somewhere, so it isn't tied to the lifetime of the machine.

My girlfriend's microwave-clock runs faster than normal. Somehow this thing manages to accumulate an error of ~15 minutes in a month.

You don't even have to got that far. Defining your own iterator would be enough for most cases.

Good for them. From a dev perspective, I think, Rust and Bevy are the right direction, but after reading this account, Bevy probably isn't there yet. For a long time, Unity games felt sluggish and bloated, but somehow they got that fix
