Sorry, but this is just nonsense. You have to intentionally use Nix in a way that no one does, in a way that is highly discouraged in every corner of the community, in order to get unreproducable behavior. Furthermore, that mis-usage does n

Sure, but why go to the effort to exclude others? Did they think it would help avoid detection on systems that they didn't care to backdoor?

Shame on me for not reading more before my now removed comment. Shout-out for doing this level of analysis and guessing, as with everything in this incident, fascinating and tantalizing to wonder about. It is interesting, at least one of th

My phone number was once a Verizon number. Then Google Voice. Then Google Fi. Then, since Google couldn't transfer my number from Fi back to Voice, and Fi left me stranded multiple times with a non-functioning phone , I transferred ou

Shout out to Ticketmaster for not allowing the only real phone number I have. Walked into an Oxxo. Bought a sim card for like $3, Ticketmaster happily let me use it. Good job, guys.

Damn shame, there are some fun, very above board subreddits that I wouldn't care to be on without a VPN. Granted it would be easy to migrate them as well. And in fact, those same communities are probably on Discord.

Yes, and in fact, it's quite a huge pain even in the packaging side. Everytime I have to deal with autotools in nixpkgs, I end up having to rewrite the derivation to build from actual freaking source instead of a pre-mangled non-rele

Lmao, love seeing what HN decides is controversial these days. God give me the power of some of y'all's utterly depraved self-serving self-delusion. I at least acknowledge the moral compromise of how my labor accrues in the system

Bacalar was ... stunning, and chill. Still full of tourists and expats and retirees, but infinitely better vibes than Tulum. Even PDC is more touristy and somehow less... Tulum... than Tulum.

Tulum is fine but I would not ever go again if my friend didn't live there. It's just the intersection of nacros, tourism, cancun spillover, hella overpriced beach clubs. Probably my least favorite place I've been in Mexico

I met a nice Israeli filmography couple (somewhat known in Israel, I think) in Tulum last summer. After conducting important business, they were telling me about how they were vacating on the back of a nice windfall -- they got paid upfront

Well, sorta. Azure has Bicep now [1], to compete with Terraform and ARM JSON templates. (Separately, there's also the whole Dapr thing, what a sight to see that Discord and complete lack of interest from anyone outside the company). [1
