builtins.fetchTarball is not there, among others, and from watching Matrix I think there are still some things in nixpkgs that eval slightly differently in tvix. It feels like things are heating up, and "soon" is on the horizon.

I've had CL11242 open in my browser for a few weeks. The first thing I'm doing when it merges is evaluating my flake(s) with flakes-compat.

Imagine you had a qemu/libvirt guest that understands USB, but doesn't have support for USB/IP in "kernel/userspace". usbredir gets your device to qemu, looking like it's a USB device attached to the VM, w

I think just that it's plugged in at the SPICE level. So I guess you could redirect a USB device into a guest that isn't running Linux and can't run usb/ip? But also, this is how usb redirection works with virt-viewer&#x

I can't help myself... Firefox View poorly duplicates functionality found in other places of the browser already. Meanwhile, the rest of the product just languishes. Here's a fun thought: You have Firefox Android setup to sync wit

I spend my "political advocacy" bucks on trying to convince older generations around me just how much they and their peers pulled the ladder up behind them. And at the same time, I find conversations about money with younger gener

Bit different imo. If some scammer sends me my bro's penile pic, I'm gonna delete it and warn him. If the scammer sends me proof he was consuming illegal, immoral CSAM, I'm having a vastly different reaction. The shame is the

LOL mods. 1. The comment doesn't respond to any claims I made. 2. The comment doesn't do the bare minimum to back up their claims, after spouting already wrong information in this thread. (Sorry, not sorry, but if you're goin

I just have a visceral reaction every time I see "SMS" anywhere. It's a garbage human verification method (hello boxes of SIM cards available in [certain markets] for spare change), it's a garbage 2fa mechanism (especi

I wish just one of these would allow for multi-instantiation of services. I have projects where I need to spin up multiple independent postgres. Instead, many of these tools repeat the patterns used in nixpkgs.
