Kind of a fun thing to see on HN. If you enjoy this, you might also like frank howarth's videos on youtube. He puts in a ton of time to do stop motion animations of his projects coming to life. https://www.youtube.com/

Very neat photos. The Azure Cloud Temple in the Fragrant Hills park is one of my favorite places on earth. The park is very busy in general, but the entire path leading up to the Cloud Temple and the temple itself are typically empty, pea

Looks pretty cool, but I had trouble getting the links to work just using a note title. I'm also looking for something native that will operate on a folder full of text files (for easy backup, syncing, and versioning).

Hey, that looks really nice. I'm looking for something native that operates on a folder full of text files, but that is a really great site.

I'm currently using vimwiki with md syntax, which I like better than org mode. I'm pretty happy with it, although sometimes I would like to drop in an inline image or have md rendered in nice fonts in a native app.

That's what I'm using now. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to drop in an inline image though.

The thing that would make all these markdown editors a killer app for me is an easy way to link between documents. Something like vimwiki, where you can surround a word or group of words with "[[" "]]" and it turns that

I'm looking for the same thing as you. On a mac, VooDooPad fits the bill but it is not open source and its future looks murky. If it were open source with an active community of users I think I would use it. This has kept me on vimwik

No, everyone hates it. But that is the equilibrium that we're in. Everyone wishes we were in a different equilibrium with open-access online journals, but that's the tricky thing about equilibria -- nobody wants to unilaterally

The anti-competitive consequences of this are really interesting. Does anyone know if there are historical statistics on email provider market shares? It would be interesting to see how things have changed over time.

It looks kind of like a user friendly database app a la File Maker. Interesting that it is marketed as a note taking app. On a mac though, I still haven't found anything better for notes than VoodooPad. Too bad it seems to be languis

I highly recommend Nerdkits ( http://www.nerdkits.com ). It is a kit, but the real value is in the excellent ebook that comes with it.

I think those are the author's words and not Kahneman's. At least I would hope so, otherwise it would reveal a lot of ignorance about the objectives of a bureaucracy like the government.

For Safari (and Chrome) I made a little automator service that gets the url from the browser, strips the hostname, then feeds that into a shell script that calls pass and puts the password in the clipboard for 45 seconds. It actually works

Does anyone happen to know how to make it so that the preview of a DDG search result is not a link to the result? I often want to copy and paste something from the preview, but having it as a link makes that difficult.
