In the U.K. outright TV and print media bias is the new normal. The UK already has one of the least trusted media in Europe, and I think it's safe to say the hostile and one-sided coverage (relentlessly attacking Jeremy Corbyn and the

Worth noting that Nils Melzer, the UN Special Rapporteur on torture, did visit Assange. "Melzer was accompanied during his prison visit on 9 May by two medical experts specialised in examining potential victims of torture and other ill

It's funny that when it comes to Assange, suddenly the UN group's findings become "non-binding". Did you read what they had to say about it? > The Opinions of the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention are legally-bindi

I don't know how to respond to this. UN experts on human rights have looked into his situation and been quite alarmed by it. I can't think of a group of people more respected in the field of human rights than the experts at the UN

I find it remarkable that so many here feel they are in a better position to assess whether Assange's human rights have been violated than experts on the topic at the UN who've spent considerable time looking into his situation.

You're assuming he had a lot of choice in the matter and that the UN didn't take that into account. Nils Melzer when asked about it responded: "Mr. Assange was about as free to leave as someone sitting on a rubber boat in a s

The irony they were highlighting was the Guardian's stated position on privacy, "The Guardian view on privacy online: a human right", and their own complete disregard for that position. That's quite different from what y

That's why I find uBlock Origin so refreshing. The entire ad-blocking universe is so tainted with business interests it's hard to trust any of them. The uBlock Origin developer is genuinely principled from what I've seen.

That's not a likely explanation when it comes to Assange. The Guardian has been terrible, and even its previous star reporter Glenn Greenwald (who won them a Pulitzer on the Snowden reporting) has been extremely critical. See for examp
