there is a lot of fuss about bitcoin energy needs, but plenty of proof that it's not well founded. You compare it to Visa, but actually visa does only part of what bitcoin does (transactions), and does it using _other_ systems themselv

To me it seems like OP simply refuses to evolve and wants to keep writing HTML and CSS like 10 years ago while frontend today is more complex.

I've built such strong relationships through games, with people I've never met, that I can't agree more with that. The limit is that games will have the same effects as other "offsite" activities. Some people will b

Tracking has become so bad that it seems like users have to spend money (more bandwidth) to protect themselves from it. Crazy and sad to see where we've come :\

The big scare at the time Uber started it's own unit was that "once Waymo or another competitor has self driving cars, it will be easy to offer a ride share network and compete with Uber"

That's just not true. Way before Uber IPO'ed and started aiming at profitability next year, self-driving cars was the big thing for Uber's future. (Disclaimer, I worked at Uber 2014-18).
