I recommend Linux native and a MS Windows VM using livbirt/virt-manager unless you have need for GPU acceleration in your workflow. This way you can slowly migrate your software to the Linux side and maybe eventually forget to turn on

I don’t even mind logging in on a personal laptop but we have shared computers at work to operate machines. It does not make any sense to login with your account in one of those.

I just witnessed LLM (ab)use coming from one graduate student (not the first to do it and definitely not the last), where they submitted a conference paper draft for their coauthors and advisors to review short before a deadline, with compl

My observation is that in language learning there are always people that will come to correct or improve your method, say they have something better and tell you why you are wrong. It’s important to be a bit strong willed against this type

That's quite different than what most folks are looking for when learning a new language, but I guess some techniques can apply just fine. You would have to take the lead find and prepare your own study material. Something like collect

I think I’m working at lower levels, but usually my flow is: - I start to build or refactor the code structure by myself creating the basic interfaces or skip to the next step when they already exist. I’ll use LLMs as autocomplete here. - I

Night and day improvement is relative. For example, last time I tried the iOS version had no localization to some languages, which the old one has, and not everyone can deal with an interface falling back to English.

I was considering moving from Slack (free version) to Teams (paid) for a new project starting in October because my workplace already have a license for that. Seems like it will have less features but no 90 day retention annoyances. You see

We’ve been using Raspberry Pis in CubeSats for a while, for LEO they are good enough for a year or two. It’s the common consumer grade SD cards that are the weakest point. There are more robust industrial grade SD cards and there are RPis w

If things keep going in the direction they are, there might not be a LineageOS at some point, and developing a useful alternative before that (Linux based) would be great.

Probably in the long run the only way to go will be to own/carry two devices. A long supported phone with stock firmware and apps you are "forced" to use to interface with the world around you, and a second Linux portable mac
