Not everybody might realize this, but this is a truly excellent and very impressive result. Most models on my M4 Max run at 150W consumption.

What are "bots"? If I use Claude to gather and summarize information for me, is that a "bot"? Because I recently hit that wall and it wasn't great. Turns out in our quest to fight "bots" we also force huma

I find the "em dashes mean AI" trope annoying — I've been typing em dashes since I learned how to do this on a Mac, which was around 2007 I think. Shift-Option-hyphen became second nature, just like Option-; for an ellipsis (

The 555 timer is still the most popular chip that hobbyists add to their parts inventory (see rankings at https://partsbox.com/ecdb.html ). I find this both interesting and curious — I'd say it has mostly nostalgic va

Well, you can fund individual developers on GitHub (like David Nolen), which I do. I would also gladly fund the core, although I do not feel it is "falling apart", quite the opposite in fact — I am very happy with what it provides

I recently read an article about a company that develops technology for re-using worn-out EV batteries for grid storage. After all, your EV battery with 70% capacity would be useful for many years somewhere in the desert with thousands of o

If you use Clojure for your business, please consider funding this effort and also directly developers who work on software that you use. It makes for a sustainable ecosystem. The Clojure community is very mature and incredibly nice, so thi

This looks interesting and promising! But I'm confused about your business model and pricing, which mentions "creative generations"? I'd like to understand it better before investing time into this.

I still remember how Google execs were using the word "open" almost as a comma. Android was Open, Google was Open, this was so different from the Closed Apple World. Everything would be Open! I hope we will remember this lesson

I just realized that the fact that LLMs work so well for me in Clojure might be partly because of the clojure-mcp tools. They provide structural browsing and editing.

Yes, this is the one I wrote about. I used it quite a bit a long time ago to get more performance. I remember vaguely that the performance was indeed there, but the package wasn't that easy to use and errors were hard to debug.

I think, like with the rest of Clojure, none of this is "revolutionary" in itself. Clojure doesn't try to be revolutionary, it's a bunch of existing ideas implemented together in a cohesive whole that can be used to buil

Performance is one of the niceties of transducers, but the real benefits are from better code abstractions. For example, transducers decouple the collection type from data-processing functions. So you can write (into #{} ...) (a set), (into
