I’m going to jump to the conclusion that being opinionated is somehow negative socially for you? Or do you have another motivation? If that the case I’d suggest - Keep the opinions - but add in curiosity.

All comes down to good naming in the end. The craft is finding both compact and specific names. I think the mantra for all names to be short can be counterproductive here. If the code span of a variable is short, a long name can be fine (an

Well yes, but "embedded" is a pretty broad category. Some major cases are: - High-volume and cost-driven: where a you're picking the cheapest MCU you can make work (often by a matter of cents). You want to squeeze every last b

Despite some important criticism, I think this article misses an important factor. The benefit with the MBTI is showing employees that people think differently from them. Yes, we all know that, but we still need prompting and practice on it

Very likely this is RAM-related. The M1s cope very well (particularly with memory compression). However, get a set of electron-based apps in there (Notion and Slack from your list)... and seems to struggle.

It's really tough (impossible) to think/work/act your way out of being burnt out. You need to reset, recharge, and then rebuild. And from the very limited information here - you sound burnt out. I don't know of many more

Docker is a lot slower on OSX. If you switch to ARM images that helps (especially stability). A bigger impact is using the virtiofs (beta) file system mapping/sync. The existing one is horrendously slow to the point of being unusable.

It's worth highlighting that the M1 series has efficiency and performance cores. For our test suite, the efficiency cores struggle and can tank the whole test run. We set our node test suite (jest) to use the number of performance co

Cypress, Portugal and Malta offer similar (arguably better) schemes for Digital Nomads [0]. Portugal has been particularly aggressive to the point they offer zero tax on crypto for their "Golden Visa" [1]. I know of a few people u

There are some half-truths in there, but otherwise what you're saying is misleading. For example, there is a (quite small) trial of facial recognition for home quarantine of international travelers. Now that's a topic worthy of di

This article implies radiation is the only objection to nuclear power, which isn’t true. It also fails to mention any alternatives (renewables) at all. Both seem major omissions.. especially from the BBC, which I always found was a bit more

TSMC is too intertwined with Taiwan and Taiwanese independence to make that feasible. Building your own fab would be a gargantuan task. A future JV with Intel seems more likely (despite it being very unlikely in absolute terms).

Plus, native speakers tend to use a lot more idiom. Which generally makes things much harder to understand (but arguably more fun) -- this is even quite noticeable when encountering English from different regions.
