Was looking at doing something similar but settled on a slightly different approach: 1. Bundle the app image with a “container.json.template” 2. Have the UI request this file first, along with a preload in the head 3. Use Nginx envsubst to

I think it is. Whenever I suggested I’d like to move out to the US one day to work on a start up or in the healthy tech scenes, most recoil as if I’m out of my mind. After seeing the number of massacres/shoot outs, losing an online fri

Hrm, not the OP but, personally, it depends. If you’re using a language without algebraic data types, you’d have to ask whether it’s perfectly normal for a record not to be found by ID at that point. If it’s unusual, you should probably jus

You’re right. We’re in some weird limbo state where: 1. A persons height is in feet (except when the doctor measures it) 2. A persons weight is in stones and pounds (except when the doctor measures it) 3. Travel distance is in miles (even r

Exact same situation. Couldn’t upgrade macOS whatsoever and it was slow as anything. Whacked Ubuntu on there and it’s running as good as new, outside of slow disk reads.

Didn’t think of it that way, so that was a gap in my understanding. I think EVs are a brilliant thing, none the less. It’d be no good replacing the grid with clean energy whilst we still burnt dirty fuel to get to work. They’re more efficie

To be honest, I didn’t think the big benefit of electric vehicles was in fact going to be a massive direct reduction of greenhouse gases, but rather the decoupling of vehicles from a fuel source that emits greenhouse gases. If our cars run

Oh wow. I’m not sure where I got first series from. I must have binged in one continuous session! Thanks for the history on a show I remember fondly from my youth. I love that :)

It’s funny, it was just the other day I was trying to convince my other half to watch Father Ted. She thought it’d be like that dreadful Mrs Browns Boys. Ahhh I loved this show. Sadly they chose not to make more because the guy who played F

I didn’t get that impression. I got the impression the author knew full well what B-trees are and is alluding to them. The author’s other writings seem to show that they do indeed know of B-trees.

I remember going through this and ended up learning Nuendo and Ableton. Then I realised I knew all this technical stuff without a grasp of the fundamentals. I reckon if I had, I’d have been extraordinarily more productive in FL Studio than

Yes, I expected the book to go into more detail but it’s actually not. You get as much content in this article as you do the book.

Not so sound when we Brits have to pay a license fee by law for owning a TV that can tune in to any public channel just to fund the BBC!

Okay, which part of my comment says that fat shaming should be used to suppress science? Which part of my comment says that it’s wrong? It IS a simplified view and there ARE many more variables that influence the success of dietary change.

So, really, you agree that science cannot justify the cruelty of fat shaming? As you said, it’s value neutral. Which part of my comment says I’d like science to spare people’s feelings? Show me the science that justifies fat shaming and ina
