I have done that before. I just have a long list of things I want to do, not necessarily learn, but don't end up doing them.

Actually yes. This is exactly what happens to me. Even after months, I come back and have an easier time. I think this touched on in Barbara Oakley's stuff though she seemed to criticise the extreme lengths between my learning. My othe

That certainly sounds right! I documented my general process above and it pretty much makes a spiral pattern of filling deficiencies as they arise.

Funnily enough the pattern goes like this: 1. Read into something for a while 2. Realise I'm deficient in X 3. Repeat 1 with X until I get into a state where I feel "blah I can't focus on anything long enough to get ahead&quo

It is because of ADHD that I pursue these. It's a constant stream of stimulation. If my gut says no, it's impossible to focus on it no matter how hard I try. But I do spend time on them. People think I'm a weirdo for even rea

Hrm. Learning anything requires sustained and consistent focus on the subject. I don't think I can. I have tried learning physics, linear algebra, calculus, abstract algebra, discrete maths, proofs, drawing, game development, compiler

I agree. I found the "ideal" argument length of 0 (or I think 1) to be a bit ridiculous, though I was in the love affair period you have when you first start learning functional programming. I read (see below) that the idea of Hun

Yes. The lion stamp means that effectively. I think it was a national initiative: Edwina Curry took the rap. In all the EU stuff slung about lately, eggs never get mentioned. Unusual action for a conservative, however.

I used to do this but actually I've started to get the water to a rolling boil and timing it just right from there. 6 - 7 minutes produces an egg where the yolks are not runny but are also not chalky and brittle. They have a creamy tex

I think salmonella from a UK egg is incredibly rare now. Pregnant women are advised not too but they're advised to eat well done steak too: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25154046

I don't think I've seen this before but good point. I'd have thought use by would be equivalent to best before in that case. Usually the use by is a couple of days, up to a week e.g meat, milk, etc.

There is that. It rarely happens the day after best before - still perfectly edible if stored right. I've met people who refuse to eat food a few days before the best before so as to completely avoid getting ill. After the best before,

This can generate a bit of confusion. Many won't eat anything past its best before date, as though it's a use by date. Best before date = no guarantee of quality after. Use by date = potentially poisonous after. In fact, we have o

I'm no expert but due to the language I think you need to specify types somewhere. It just offloads it to your test code as opposed to the algorithms. With python, your algorithm will work with the primitives without specifying either
