There exists cannabis psychosis. Naturally, more psychosis will exacerbate a psychotic illness. It usually brings it on earlier and heavier in severity i.e typically schizophrenia presents later but cannabis usage in adolescents seems to tr

That wasn't my experience, though we didn't cover the empire specifically. In fact, each term or so was based on a theme that covered a period e.g Tudors, Victorians, ancient Egypt, ancient Rome. I also went to a Catholic faith sc

I couldn't remember the specifics but I was going to say something a bit more charged i.e directly made it worse. I wasn't sure if it was a similar deal to the Indian famine but clearly was.

This isn't a stretch to believe. I'm British too. We did something similar with India. We also allowed the Irish famine to happen too. History does say we were not a very kind empire - causing famine was not beyond us.

I'm surprised. This is the type of thing that should fall within the Panda update cross hairs. Thin content, heavy ads - Google should by design be favouring pages that aren't shooting for cheap long tail hits.

That's awesome. Pharaoh and Caesar III were some of my favourite games as a kid. Never thought I'd bump into someone who worked at Impression.

I think it's a useful discussion to be had. I think where you have put forward your feelings, there will be 10 or 20 more that don't feel they can for the same reason. Acquisitions are a genuine thing to fear when it's a serv

I think firing without giving warnings and opportunity to improve is sick. These people don't even know they were doing badly. I can't tell if they've been told where they screwed up. These people could be spending a lot of t

I think his comment was fine and by the looks of things a few others feel it was fine too. The purpose of the comment section is discussion. Interesting meta discussion is discussion and still in some way relevant. Some of the best threads

My problem with Martin's article is that his solution isn't a catch all. In fact, testing is aided by the examples he gives. The things he moans about actually reduce the runtime state set of a piece of code by moving it to compil

That was a lot of fun. I remember seeing the visualisations from lowest to highest on a bar chart but this gives a different perspective on how the algorithms work.

Funnily enough I noticed this playing FPSs online like rogue spear. Teamspeak wasn't really viable on a 56k so text was the only method of comms for me and my friends at the time. I remember my dad being proud that I could type without

No it's not. It's the same argument we've had about any kind of progress in programming languages since we started using higher level languages (I.e Fortran and up).

I can see how that would be popular but it's wrong. You can take that same reasoning and say we should build web projects in C or assembly because any defects are our own fault. Let's be honest. That's bollocks. It's jus

I read a fair whack. It feels like I've forgotten more than I learned but then there's a situation every now and then that reminds me about something from one of those many books that turns out to work well. It's almost like

Hrm. I find a lot of stuff on linear algebra not so intuitive or motivating. It's a bit harder to get through. A big motivator is the sheer scale of application, along with calculus. Yeah it's a must for AI but really linear algeb
