It's interesting that the new definition of a front-end developer is increasingly JS first, HTML/CSS second.

This is actually quite the opposite of my fairly substantial experience with the London squatting scene. The vast majority of them seem to be well-meaning, anarchist or at least hippyish artistic young people. Most of them don't smoke

Bro, do you even Bootstrap? Edit: Sorry, it's not Bootstrap, it's their own framework. Though visually it's very similar. But seriously, I'm not sure who this is for. It looks like there's quite a technical hurdle t

I already do this in Sublime Text, it's very useful when you may have PHP and HTML in the same file. It's also useful with the much less common HTML with CSS or JS.

It's different. Icomoon is brilliant for creating a preset group of icons which will be used in a predictable way. But sometimes, especially during prototyping, you don't know which icons you'll want. Just being able to inclu

This is a great idea, but I should note that it was originally demoed at the beginning of the year [1], and MS have since decided not to pursue it commercially[2]. [1]: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/184581

That's a really nice, really usefully thorough admin template. Good work dude. Small suggestion - I found the demo pages very, very busy and tricky to parse at first. Perhaps a few sample layout pages with a bit more space on them coul

I would suggest adding a transition: 0; (plus all prefixes of course) on #content #tracks-display table tbody tr.track:hover At the moment the transition into the hover is making it feel laggy. I'd also reduce the transition time to so

Look out for second-hand chairs. I managed to get a Steelcase Leap for around $120 second-hand, in really good condition. It's been holding me up pretty well for about 3 years now.

I think this is pretty smart. The fire alarm in my small rented flat is pretty close to the kitchen, so I regularly have to try and fan smoke away from my panicking alarm. Looks like a well designed concept, well executed.

Flexbox is brilliant in theory but the support is so poor that it's still basically unusable in production. Pity, because it would make like much easier.

Lovely logo redesign, makes Google feel like a younger company. I doubt they'd ever do it this drastically, but you never know. I assume these are slides from a talk - would've liked to have some text accompanying them for some co

I realise you're being snarky, but of course it is. Do what makes you happy. For an increasing (but numerically very small) amount of people, building their own service is what makes them happy. In terms of awesome features - well yes.

I highly recommend front-end developers keep up to date with Lea Verou's blog and talks. She's a great ambassador for standards-based development and maintains a great sense of whimsy. I really recommend her recent talk on border-
