I don't think there's granular enough information in there to support your conclusion. To illustrate, imagine that IT workers used to get paid a $100k real wage in 2000 and a $50k real wage today. Imagine computer scientists and p

That doesn't sound right - if I speak fluent Russian and I'm older than 15, it's probably easier for me to move to a Russian-speaking country (where I might have family) than learn Latvian. Especially if my social circle in L

Agreed about the pre-planning. Organized a 50 day trip through Europe once, had every flight and hostel booked for all 50 days + got a rail pass, then ended up having to reshuffle things around 20 days in once we realized we had way overpla

For companies raising $1.5 mil or less, from my (very limited) anecdotal observations it seems like investors have a base usefulness that may or may not fluctuate as a function of the amount they have invested. It also may or may not fluctu

That's unfortunate. I have the opposite anecdote - they've been extremely kind and responsive every time I've been in touch.

The relationship gets even more complex because, along with going Galt, simply moving can be a viable option. If moving to Bruxelles from Paris is really easy, the impact of higher taxes in France vs Belgium may be felt very differently tha

It's case by case and there is no general rule. My hunch is that in this case it makes decision makers at big companies feel like they'll be around for longer.

Super, moi aussi. Still impressive - translating/maintaining our materials in French seems daunting even though I'm a native speaker. Perhaps it'll be more feasible with community involvement.

Very (pleasantly) surprised to see a full French localization. Would love to hear whether it was worth it, wondering if I should translate my startup materials. Anyhow, félicitations!

We'll cross that bridge when we get there? Incidentally, a couple days ago I spoke to someone wearing sunglasses. I did not find myself wondering if he was zoning out even though I couldn't see his eyes because there were other indicators t

It's pretty obvious if you are not paying attention to your surroundings while using Glass, your eyes shift up (you have to to see the screen) and it's clear you've zoned out. "what is the user looking at on their screen, are they present,

The correct answer doesn't exist. There's a methodology you can follow to find an answer for every product, and it will vary case-by-case and sometimes over the lifetime over the product. Your gut reaction will be right many times but wrong

Depending on your demographic of players this may be a mistake. HN will complain a lot about Facebook login but take words with friends as an example - you can play the tutorial without logging in and then it's FB login to play for real. Pe

It's always better to do an interactive tutorial the first time someone plays. You can count on very very few people ever voluntarily clicking a help section and reading what lies within and on similarly few people actually reading any amou

You should let players save starting configurations so games can get going faster once a matchup is made. I'm now waiting for my buddy to set up. Alternatively don't start looking for players to match me with until I have finished set up. E
